First overnight RV camping thoughts at Santee Lakes KOA Campground, SC:

  1. I did not unhitch my trailer from my truck because it looked too daunting for a quick stay.

  2. Even though my Airstream was still hitched to my truck, I used my stabilizers and levelers for left and right leveling.

  3. The common theme is love for the outdoors and comradery.

  4. A full-time RVer named Mark found out it was my first night with my RV so ran to his campsite and brought back a bottle of champagne. He stated it was my induction into the RV life. (Video below).

  5. Thank you to the RVers, Bobby and Rick, for helping me hook-up for the first time. Who knew there were so many ways to mess up where to connect the water hose.

Santee Lakes KOA is an accessible campground from interstate 95. All the campsites offered are well shaded. Although keep in mind not all sections have a lake-view - so be sure to reserve a lake-view site if that suits your fancy! Like most KOA’s, the individual campsites are less private. If you are looking for more space between sites than I would recommend looking elsewhere.
